What a forward-deployed engineer does

A forward-deployed engineer sits with the customer and ships. The role covers business discovery, AI engineering, evaluation and production delivery. It is how we work at Oridom AI: start with the work, build where it will run, show progress every week, and hand over when it works.

Who it is for

Students and working engineers who can already write code and want to build AI systems that reach production.

Four stages, each ending in something you built

  1. Foundations

Understand workflows, users, constraints and risks. You finish with a written brief for one real workflow, including what a right answer looks like.

  2. Agents and evaluation

Build agents, retrieval, tool integrations and human approval steps. You finish with a working agent and its test set.

  3. Deployment and operations

Release systems with monitoring, logging and security controls. You finish with that agent deployed and monitored.

  4. The deployment itself

Work inside a real business workflow and communicate clearly. You finish with a handover to the team that will own the system.

What you leave with

A portfolio of four things you built yourself: a workflow brief, a working agent with its test set, a deployed and monitored system, and a completed handover.

How it is taught

Practical work, engineering reviews and real delivery problems, with few lectures.

Who teaches

The founders of Oridom AI: working engineers who build production AI systems. Between them they lead a faculty of about 100 AI instructors and have taught more than 10,000 students to build with AI.

After the programme

Strong graduates may be invited to work on Oridom AI projects.
